Shock Ti & The Beach Troopers make a comeback with a re-issue of their avant-pop debut EP!
Originally released in April 2014, "The Next Big Single" is pretty much Wolf One solo, with abstract, chopped up female vocals filling in for Shock Ti. The band's head honcho cooked up an ecclectic mixture of various genres such as dream pop, glitch hop, IDM and even industrial rock, a blend that often takes a surprisingly dark turn.
The EP contains not only the original songs that received a number of tweaks, but two new tracks and artwork as well! "Tricks and Evil" is a playful and wacky tune featuring bluesy guitar and oud leads over hard-hittin' trap-style beats. "Demise Richards", on the other hand, picks up where "Celestial Castles" left off. It is a dark, brooding, ritual-esque dream pop with gentle female vocals soaring over thundering tribal drums that conjure up the dark, somber and melancholic atmosphere.
